Tell Me Something Good”
Last spring the James Island Baseball Program partnered with mPower6, a youth sports online fundraising company to generate funds for their 2019 season. mPower6 has a unique model that partners each fundraising campaign with a charitable organization through donation or community service. Their objective is to make each campaign an opportunity for young people to get involved in their community. To connect with a higher cause and give back. The JICHS Trojans did both! Through the help of many generous donors, the Trojans were able to raise funds for their program, as well as donate $500 to a former JICHS student and her foundation – Sara’s Cure – whose mission is to find a cure for Clear Cell Sarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. The James Island Baseball Program didn’t stop there. These young men also volunteered their time to The Charleston Miracle League. Assisting in their “buddy program” and helping to create a memorable baseball and social experience for children and adults with special needs.
“David Beckley has hit an absolute home run with his new fundraising company. As the head coach at James Island, we partnered with mPower6 to do more than just raise money for typical expenses of running a program. mP6 not only helped us to raise more money for our program, but also helped connect us to our community. Far above the money raised, the connections built in our community are way more beneficial to our young men. Coach Beckley’s idea has changed the fundraising game and I could not be more excited to be partnered with him.” – Matt Spivey, MCAA, James Island Charter High School, Social Studies Teacher, Head Varsity Baseball Coach
